About the Role
We are seeking a Controller to manage and oversee the financial operations of the company on a global scale. This role includes ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, implementing and maintaining effective internal controls, systems, and processes to prepare for continued growth.
Reporting to the CFO, the Global Controller will play a critical role in the success of the company and will be responsible for the buildout and development of the accounting team, audit, payroll, cost accounting, reporting & technical accounting, US GAAP compliance, tax, and treasury.
The ideal person has expertise in accounting and finance, leadership skills, attention to detail, the ability to develop reliable systems and processes, and overall accountability in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the worldwide accounting functions including monthly financial close process, external reporting, revenue recognition, fixed assets, payroll, technical accounting, internal controls, financial systems, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and taxation.
- Review month-end closing of company financial statements ensuring books are closed in a timely manner and in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of the financial results in accordance with the U.S. GAAP, international standards, and local statutory requirements.
- Review the monthly and quarterly financial reporting package, including income statement and balance sheet analysis, bank covenants, and various management reports.
- Be a strong partner to the CFO in preparing communications to the Board of Directors and Audit Committee, including keeping all parties updated on accounting and financial reporting issues.
- Develop and maintain global financial policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and manage external audits and tax compliance.
- Ensure all accounting policies and procedures are current.
- Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled in a timely manner and reconciling items are resolved.Oversee systems implementations to drive process efficiencies and internal control.
- Provide Mergers & Acquisitions transaction support, including due diligence, analysis, accounting, and post deal integration.
- Lead by example in developing, motivating, attracting, and retaining a highly effective accounting team and inspire change and collaboration.
- Collaborate with FP&A team to ensure timely publishing of metrics, forecasts, and budgets.
- Encourage the sharing of best practices and insights across all members of the team.
- Work with the CFO and other senior stakeholders on special projects.
- Lead and mentor a team of regional controllers and finance professionals.
- Monitor and manage global cash flow and liquidity.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in global accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong background in M&A and acquisition integration is required. Must have integrated multiple acquisitions throughout career.
- Strong people management skills with the capability to lead and develop a globally distributed, highperformance team.
- Proven experience in managing global financial operations is required, including collaborating with global operating units and managing multi-currency, location, and segment consolidations, as well as preparation of financial statements.
- Experience with SaaS, software, or technology sector organizations strongly preferred.
- NetSuite proficiency required.
- Private equity experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
