About the Role

As an Accounting Assistant you will play a central role in supporting the accounting of the holding company (ToolsGroup B.V.) mainly in relation to costs and expenses, and to ensure smooth administrative operations of Amsterdam office.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Financial Accountant.
  • Perform accounting/administrative tasks including issuing invoices, entering supplier invoices/credit cards/expense reports and making journal entries.
  • Auditing receipts for all employee expense reports, ensuring they are in compliance with company procedures and then entering into our accounting system
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and on timely basis.
  • Process payments such as invoices to suppliers, employee reimbursements and salary payments to employees.
  • Manage corporate credit cards, expense management system and travel agency portals
  • Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards
  • Update and maintain accounting files and records both, physical and digital.
  • Organize basic office operations such as, mailing, shipping, supplies, equipment, bills, filing, data entry and errands.
  • Assist as necessary during the annual audit.

 

Requirements

  • Maximum 1-2 years of work experience in a similar role (recently graduated will also be considered).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
  • Microsoft Excel and Word at an advance level.
  • Some exposure to an accounting system will be valued.
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, accountability and excellent organization skills are a must.
  • Proficiency level of English is a must, Proficiency or Advanced level of Dutch would be very valuable.
