Getting Started with an Assessment


Forecast and Inventory Assessment ToolsGroup's implementation methodology generates fast, dependable results, usually beginning in just a few weeks. It has been tested in more than 150 implementations over more than eight years.

Engagements start with a Forecast and Inventory Assessment. Twelve months of data are loaded into SO99+ to get a snapshot of the company's current demand forecast and inventory mix performance. This is NOT a consulting project with a nice slide show or a proof of concept based on evaluating a few critical parts. It is a comprehensive modeling of a significant portion of your business unit.

The Forecast Assessment identifies persistent forecast bias and related product/market segments. Simulation of the daily forecast-allocation logic quantifies possible accuracy improvements. Both are translated into customer service or inventory reduction benefits.

The Inventory Assessment identifies an optimal mix profile and quantifies benefits under different scenarios. The Return on Investment (ROI) value proposition is set and the project timetable is established for converting the inventory mix. The assessment also creates detailed models of the physical distribution network, including transportation links, product flows and customer service levels. Different scenarios can be compared using actual performance. It becomes a powerful decision support for re-modeling the distribution network if necessary.
