Aston Martin, the world's most prestigious and exclusive
sports car manufacturer, has selected Toolsgroup's Distribution
Planning Model (DPM). This decision was made to assist Aston Martin's
automotive spares supply chain planning and improve customer service levels.
The DPM implementation will support forecasting, stock planning, and distribution
requirements planning processes for Aston Martin Parts Operations.
Installation of the integrated suite of planning tools has now been completed
at Aston Martin's Milton Keynes site. More than 32,000 spare parts for
the company's global network will be managed by using DPM's unique 'fulfilment-driven'
replenishment technology.
Spares for Aston Martin's prestigious sports cars are numerous and some
are slow-moving, making for a challenging planning activity. DPM's forecasting
and inventory planning technology is highly suited to this difficult type
of planning and Aston Martin is looking forward to reaping considerable
benefit as a result. DPM will allow Aston Martin to plan and optimise
its inventories on the basis of service performance targets, which will
generate inventory reductions and enhance customer service levels.
DPM runs on a standard Windows NT/2000 server in a multi-user environment.
Remote user access is possible through LAN, WAN and Internet.
