Aprilia plans their spare parts division with Toolsgroup DPM

March 2003

Aprilia SpA has signed an agreement with Toolsgroup Italy for the use of their software DPM (Distribution Planning Model) for the planning of their spare parts and accessories division (approx. 40000 items).
The Aprilia Group (consisting of Aprilia, Moto Guzzi and Laverda) is the only European manufacturer that offers a complete range of two wheelers from scooters to top of the range sports motorbikes and notwithstanding the downturn within the sector, has managed to remain strong as the only brand to increase its turnover in 2002.
DPM's planning functionalities will be integrated with Aprilia's Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) Baan that currently covers its transactional functions and distribution network.
Aprilia has clear requirements - to centralise the planning activity of the current and future warehouses in Italy, France, Spain, USA and Japan.
The company foresees the immediate integration of a further two famous brands into the spare parts division of the Aprilia Group, and precisely: Laverda and MotoGuzzi.
Aprilia, together with Toolsgroup have estimated positive ROI (Return on Investment) results in less than a year along with a continuous and consistent increase in service level to market. This will ensure a number one position for the company in terms of performance to the end client.
